Hello, sweet friends!
Today I am happy to join my Power Poppy teammates on Day 4 of the "5 Days of Digis." Marcella's theme of this release is "kindness, love, peace, curiosity, and meaning. Each of these images were created from the heart, with the intention of sharing part of myself with our customers...a little more than usual."
Today we have "Gifts from the Sea," a lovely arrangement from the gifted Marcella Hawley. Here's what she shares:
Even living here in South Florida, I did not realize all the beautiful colors of seashells. Certainly, some shells are colored and sold to create lovely arrangements like this one. But it was fun to color this image. We have plumeria plants/trees throughout our area, and we call them frangipani. We first purchased a "stick" they sold at a craft fair, and the vendor told us to stick it in the ground. Truly, we were shocked when it grew and finally bloomed! They grow in so many beautiful colors. I must admit that I ended up coloring my flowers more vibrantly than I had planned, but it was fun. Hope you have as much fun as I did with this arrangement.
This card reminds me the need to make time for relaxation and "downtime" -- something I struggle with doing. My quiet time in the morning is spent reading God's Word, praying, and journaling. With life's many distractions -- especially as I age, it can be difficult to shut out the pressures of my daily schedule. That's why it's important for me to treat my quiet time as being equally important than any other item on my schedule.

Today we have "Gifts from the Sea," a lovely arrangement from the gifted Marcella Hawley. Here's what she shares:
"First of all, I'm going to recommend that everyone stop, run to the library, and pick up a copy of Anne Morrow Lindbergh's book, Gifts from the Sea. Life-changing perspectives on life as a woman and mother, all written while she was staying in a cottage by the sea in Captiva, Florida. I read this book on the very beaches where she wrote the book years ago and collected seashells galore from the fertile Gulf of Mexico. This illustration is inspired by that experience -- with a bouquet of plumeria flowers and petite palm fronds, nestled in an ink-bottle vase. Seashells of every stripe surround the scene, where someone has been writing a postcard or maybe starting to write the follow-up volume to Gifts from the Sea. Whatever it is, I recommend all to Seas the Day."

Gorgeous dear sweet sis..
Love your verseso precious and so important to know be still and KNOW THAT I AM GOD. Sometimes we try to be God and Holy Spirit and control things instead of letting God be God. Like Quiet place reading a few days back I shared on my FB page.
Your colouring is superb great creativity indeed.
We call plumeria poinsettias and they are picked a branch when dormant in winter and allow milky sap to dry for few weeks then plant and grow. I’ve a number in our garden here amd now they’re dormant as it’s our winter.
Love you dear sweet, sis. Shaz in Oz.x
Ps thanks ever so much for each of your prayers, you and DH. How precious and dear to my heart is this rich oneness we have in Christ. Xxxxxxxx
Cheryl, this is simply lovely! Your coloring is beautiful and your card design showcases this sweet image just perfectly.
What a beautiful post and card!! I so love that scripture. It is one of my favorite reminders that I have throughout the house. So often we need reminders that He is in control and not us. Your card is gorgeous!! I love your coloring of that image. It sure does look like relaxation. Beautiful sweet friend!! Hugs!!!
Beautiful job of your coloring, like how you grounded it all, love the die you used to frame it all too!
I agree we all need that down time when we put out the world and concentrate on our time with God, to revive us to face the world out there!
Oh what amazing colouring makes you card look gorgeous.
Thank you for joining us at Simon says Stamp Wednesday challenge.

Flowers, shells and snails! Beautifully colored.
Cheryl, I feel like an echo, but indeed your coloring of this lovely image is exquisite! The die cut is so pretty and frames it just perfectly. I hope you do find a way to relax more, whether that be through coloring or whatever gives you time away from life's worries.

I saw and commented on this card at scs...but I'm glad I had the opportunity to see it here again. Your coloring is always so amazing.
I have the book you mentioned...given to me as a gift...but I have to confess that I never read it...I think I need to go find it...
Hope you have a good week...Blessings, Jill
This is probably my favorite of all the new digis, but they're all beautiful and your coloring makes them more so. I understand about giving yourself some down time. I need to keep that in mind, but when I give myself a day I get stressed afterward about the things that piled up while I was relaxing. It never turns out to be as bad as I thought, but that's me.
Gorgeous coloring of one of my most favorite digis from Marcy, I have a few of this pretty shells on top of my 75 gal. marine aquarium, yours look just so true to life.
Beautifully done Cheryl, thank you for sharing.
Big Hugs.
Maria.
Beautifully done, Cheryl.
I love that book. I recall many years ago, spending the day all by myself and reading that book. A delicious memory. I own at least one copy of that beautiful book.
Hugs,
Shirl
Beautiful, although you do have some of my arch enemies on their--sea urchins. Ended up with a ton of spines in my feet on a trip to Puerto Rico. Not fun. LOL at lest these don't have the spines left.
Your card is just beautiful! You have given this digi such a tropical feel that really brings it to life!
I also wish to thank you for letting me know that I was the random winner of last month's challenge - I am so grateful for that! I have been following Marcella for some years, and love all the positive vibes she gives out through her art and her perspectives! Best wishes, Ann
This feels so fresh and pretty. Great color combo and I do like the CAS design but you knew that. :-)
