Hello, my sweet friends! It's hard to believe that we are soon approaching Christmas, isn't it?
Well, here's something that will definitely put you in the mood and delight your eyes. It's the new Instant Garden digital stamp called Chickadee in Barberry. Now isn't this just the sweetest little chickadee? It comes with four sentiments that surely will delight you.
My mom would have loved this darling bird. This sweet image got me into a Christmas mood and reminded me of how much my mom loved Christmas. One of the special things I remember is that the day after Thanksgiving she would start decorating by putting out something red. So I decided that I would start my Christmas card with something red.
I decided to use this beautiful Papertrey die that cuts out an entire card base with scallops and stitching, and I wanted a red mat. I used GIMP to make my sentiment red, and then I used Microsoft Word to pull in both the bird and the sentiment to resize each one and placed them where I wanted. I printed out four on a sheet and then started coloring. I added some glitter on the snow, and it was done. Since this sweet image is easy to color, I plan to make a few more of these cards....and they are so mail friendly and require no extra postage.
This precious bird reminds me of a Scripture verse in which Jesus uses an analogy of birds to assure us that we need not worry. We can rest in His loving care, seeing how He provides for even the tiniest of birds.
Jesus said, "Look at the birds of the air,
for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns;
yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not worth much more than they?"
Matthew 6:26
