Hello, my sweet friends! It's hard to believe that we are soon approaching Christmas, isn't it?
Well, here's something that will definitely put you in the mood and delight your eyes. It's the new Instant Garden digital stamp called Chickadee in Barberry. Now isn't this just the sweetest little chickadee? It comes with four sentiments that surely will delight you.
My mom would have loved this darling bird. This sweet image got me into a Christmas mood and reminded me of how much my mom loved Christmas. One of the special things I remember is that the day after Thanksgiving she would start decorating by putting out something red. So I decided that I would start my Christmas card with something red.
I decided to use this beautiful Papertrey die that cuts out an entire card base with scallops and stitching, and I wanted a red mat. I used GIMP to make my sentiment red, and then I used Microsoft Word to pull in both the bird and the sentiment to resize each one and placed them where I wanted. I printed out four on a sheet and then started coloring. I added some glitter on the snow, and it was done. Since this sweet image is easy to color, I plan to make a few more of these cards....and they are so mail friendly and require no extra postage.
This precious bird reminds me of a Scripture verse in which Jesus uses an analogy of birds to assure us that we need not worry. We can rest in His loving care, seeing how He provides for even the tiniest of birds.
Jesus said, "Look at the birds of the air,
for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns;
yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not worth much more than they?"
Matthew 6:26

It IS the sweetest chickadee! I tend not to buy digital images, but I am really loving this one! You colored it so nicely and the little bit of glitter on the snow is the perfect amount.
I have so many special Christmas memories and traditions. We always had a advent wreath at home and lit it every night while reading the daily scripture. And I have a few of my grandmother's very old ornaments that are so pretty!
I hope you have a great Saturday, Cheryl!
Darling, Cheryl! Chickadees are such happy little things, and you've shown this one off beautifully! I was just thinking of that scripture this week, too!
Beautiful card Cheryl, I love the way you colored the new image and the scalloped edge :) My favorite Christmas memory is being together with family when we were young and all of our kids playing together. Miss those days :) I love that you always share a scripture! Have a blessed day :)
So precious Cheryl! I just about flipped when I saw this new image, it is so sweet! You’ve totally captured the sweet simplicity and beauty here in your design. The perfect Scripture too.
Cheryl this is beautiful. The snow looks so real and I do like the white space. Very clean and beautiful girlie!
We have tons of Chickadees here and through we don't get snow often, when we do they look like this photo as we have bushes with berries on them that get eaten by the birds. I can feel the cool winter through the colouring of this amazing image! Beautifully done as always!!
The little birdie in the berries is such a delight and you have coloured this to show it off to perfection ... love it Cheryl.
This is just delightful. Perfect coloring (I think I say that ALL the time lol...cuz it's true!) and a sweet design and layout. I think of my Nana when I see Chickadees, she always would have the suet ready to fill the feeders. Merry Merry! xo~
What a treat it was to get your email today! I have been having troubles with my address, and I haven't received one of your posts since the last time I left you a comment. That was a LONG time ago!
Your posts are always gorgeous to look at, and wonderfully inspiring to ready! Thank you very much! :o)
So pretty, Cheryl! I'm with you ...this will make a great mailer for Christmas! Thank you for the reminder of our Lord's provision.
It's always heartwarming to enjoy precious moments that remind us of special people, Cheryl! They are never forgotten when we have the gift of memories. Beautifully colored! I can feel the iciness on that snowy branch, and that's saying a lot for being in FL! Thanks for explaining about GIMP. I will check it out! Beautifully done, Cheryl! Hugs, de
So precious!! What a wonderful card!! And thank you for all the kind comments on my cards at SCS!
Beautiful! I love the colors you chose!
Wonderful card, as always, dear sweet friend, we don't have snow or chickadees but still love both, it's a wonderful reminder of Gods providence too dear sis! How rich we are in Jesus, our wonderfulSaviour and friend. Heavenly bounty indeed. Fascinated that you changed print colour in gimp!
Hugs, Shaz. X
Oh Cheryl, you know how much I love birds and this little chickadee is a favorite!! I think I may HAVE to buy this! You are such an enabler you know!! You color so beautifully that it just make me want one! Beautiful framing as well, I love the stitched scallop card base!
Gorgeous my sweet friend (as always!!!)
A lovely winter scene with the sweetest little bird. God gave us some of the most beautiful creatures. Wonderful design Cheryl. Cool card die. Hugs!
So very precious Cheryl! Your coloring is beautiful as always. You've framed the card perfectly, the red mat pops with color, I just love it! I wish we had this snow, but I know it's not good for your health, so I'm very happy it's warm for you. We're at the beach this weekend, my husband and I spent the morning paddle boarding enjoying the weather. It was actually quite breezy in the Gulf, but the water was calm and clear. We were able to see horseshoe crabs scuttling about in the shallows. Have a fabulous weekend sweet friend!
Dear sweet Cheryl...your chicadee is so adorable and beautifully colored. This was my mother's favorite birdie and now mine too :-) My favorite memory for the Christmas season has always been baking and sharing with friends, family, mailman, paper boy, hairdresser and more :-) I still carry on the tradition with my trays of my grandmother's Norwegian Krumkakes :-) Sending you holiday blessings my friend. Hugs, nancy
What a cute little chickadee and a lovely scene!
Oh Cheryl... this is soooo adorable! Chickadees are my favorite birds and I have them all over my home in decor! I also love watching them in the winter at our feeders. You have done a beautiful job coloring this one and I love that the digi sentiment was printed out in red. Sweet memories of your Mom too! It's hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner! I have lost a whole year here to treatments, but am trusting the year ahead will be much better and yes, it is such a comfort to know God takes care of all His creatures, and will certainly take care of me! Hugs dear friend!!!
Marcella make the design, but you take it and kick it up a notch. Excellent coloring of the cute chickadee and genius to use Gimp to color the sentiment. What a grand Christmas card.
so beautiful and wonderful...just like you!
hugs,
karen
So love this card Cheryl!! That digi is spectacular, I must have it!! Love that scripture you posted. Hugs to you my sweet friend!
Oh my this is just beautiful, your coloring of it is just wonderful, great detail, and I love the scalloped framed card!! Love how you chose red like your mom would have, so sweet! Hope you have a great week ahead!
Cheryl, Chickadees are my favorite bird here and I love watching them at our bird feeder!! They're always so busy and seem cheerful...not like the bossy magpies! You've done an excellent job with your design and coloring!! Simple white scalloped matting gives it such a charming feel...gee I may have to get this one!! Thanks for sharing!! Hugs to you, sweet friend!
I love how you let this image just shine on this one Cheryl. :)
Isn't this the MOST adorable image? Ohhhhh, how I love it! We have lots of different Chickadees and they're so cute. The black caps are my favorite. We have barberries, too, so, of course, I'll have to color this one for Christmas. Cheryl, you've done such a beautiful job with your coloring and shading. I'm in awe!
Cheryl, I knew you would do something really wonderful with this chickadee. I'm glad you have such special memories of your mom and can incorporate that beauty into your designs. Congratulations on your DT assignment with WAW :)
oh I just love love this beauty Cheryl. I love the scallop border and gorgeous coloring with the soft blue outline. WOW.
Absolutely beautiful just like you my friend! :) I love that you have this sweet chickadee all colored so beautifully with the snow and you've kept a clean look to your design!! Very well executed Cheryl! HUGS :)
Cheryl, this is a beautiful card. I love the red and the crisp white all around the wonderfully colored image.
Cheryl, I do so love your clean crisp design. The coloring and shading you've done with this digi is nothing short of spectacular. I love this chickadee. I have a rubber stamp that I use every year, but I think I must have this one also.
Cheryl, this is so lovely! Your coloring always impresses me, and you know how much I enjoy your words. Keep them coming, my friend!
Precious card Cheryl. Love the sweet bird image.
