Flowers and Something New

Hello, dear friends, and welcome to my very first post as a design team member for Word Art Wednesday. I am honored to join this wonderful group of women who love the Lord and enjoy making cards and other projects using God's Word.

This week's verse is Proverbs 8:17. "I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me." This verse refers to seeking God's wisdom, which is found in Scripture. I have found it so important for me to set aside time early each day to read and study a portion of God's Word.

CherylQuilts, Designed by Cheryl Scrivens, Word Art Wednesday, October 2016

I decided that I wanted to showcase this Scripture verse with some flowers, and you know how much I love flowers, right? I white embossed the flowers onto card stock, sponged the colors with Distress inks, and then fussy cut them (something else I love). Next I used some oval dies to highlight the verse on the curved rectangle die that was layered on top of the Island Indigo embossed layer. Then I added the flowers using some thin dimensional squares and added some sequins. Now it's ready to be mailed.

Karen Letchworth shares a wonderful devotional about each Word Art Wednesday challenge verse, and I know you will be greatly encouraged by reading it.

I love them that love me;
and those that see me early shall find me.
Proverbs 8:17

Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you will visit the Word Art Wednesday blog to see the projects made by the rest of the design team and to pick up your free digital image. After reading the devotional about this Scripture verse, be sure to check out the fantastic sponsors. Word Art Wednesday is so blessed to have Simon Says Stamp as the primary sponsor for our challenges.

The Flower Challenge is a brand new challenge, and I am also participating in their first challenge. And I am also joining this week's Simon Says: Totally Resist challenge.

As always, it's such a joy to hear from you, and I love reading each of your comments. I am always happy to answer questions regarding digital images. May God bless you this week.

Blessings, dear friends,

Hi there dear sweet sister in the Lord, Cheryl!
Well, my day started ever so well because of you.... some happy mail arrived, I'd totally forgotten all about you asking for my address, so a delight to receive the beautiful devotional book! Wow what a heart lifter, in praise to our Lord God.

Then I was over on WAW adding my card link, ( and I was número uno!) and who did I see joining the DT but dear sweet friend Cheryl ... how thrilled I was because I do so love your cards, you've exquisite God given taste and great eye for showcasing images.
This card is superb and the special verse is certainly the focal point, great one to send off and encourage someone.
It's late here and I better get to bed but wanted to thank you most earnestly before the day ended. You are a precious sister in the Lord, I can't wait till the day we meet in glory, prob not in this life.
Love in His sweet Name above all names,

Well, I'm just all excited about this, Cheryl! It means more beautiful cards from one of my favorite stampers, and this challenge is such a perfect fit for you. You've used a stamp set today which I've loved since I first saw it and if I wasn't already buried in stamps it would be in my collection. I love that you watercolored the flowers so beautifully in yellow with those fresh green leaves. The stitched die cuts and your choice of embossing folder for the background are perfect with the flowers. Congratulations on joining the WAW team!
