Peonies for Misti

Hello, sweet friends! After church today I decided to participate in the Featured Stamper challenge at Splitcoaststampers. It's rare for me to color and finish a card on the same day (yes, I'm a tortoise, not a hare...haha!). But I managed today, and chose this beautiful CAS (clean and simple) card by Misti (who like me loves flowers).

For some reason, I have not inked up the peonies in Power Poppy's Dynamic Duos: Peonies and Tulips. So I found lots of beautiful samples of peonies on the internet and colored this beautiful image with Copics. (I used far more colors than I needed, but I wanted to add more depth and used some darker colors and blended them...very fussily.) I added a sentiment from the same set and did it using my MISTI! I love that tool, and what fun to use the MISTI for my card for Misti (sorry...that was bad, wasn't it?).

Keeping it simple, I trimmed down my focal image, gave it a thin mat, and (of course) pierced it. I used an embossed background with a thin mat, tied a bow with organza ribbon, and then popped my image...and it was done. I almost CASE'd one of Misti's cards that had designer paper but decided to keep it simple.

So many of my stamper sisters (and families) are going through difficult times, and I was thinking of them as I was making this card. Prayer is such a precious gift of being able to talk to our heavenly Father directly.

Be joyful in hope,
patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:12

Thanks so much for "stopping by" and sharing a comment, thought or question, and I hope you have a wonderful week!

Blessings,

So you like the Misti tool huh? I have been contemplating it but don't know if I would use it enough to justify the cost. The card is exquisite. I don't see any evidence of too many colors. Like Goldilocks said...it's just right. :-) Your work is always a delight my friend. Hugs!

Oh, Cheryl, so beautiful! I feel as if I've gotten an extra treat today, seeing a card from you. Your coloring is some of the best, and such a pretty CAS design with the embossing I love so much on the white. Nicely framed with the narrow colored mats. This is just so gorgeous! I rarely do a whole card in one day, too. I don't even usually finish the coloring in a day, let alone the card design, but that might change after retirement.

Hi Cheryl. Your cards and coloring are so gorgeous as always - warm my heart and put a smile on my face that I always try to never miss any of your posts. This Misti and the scripture Romans 12:12 truly help me smile today. Thank you for coloring it up Cheryl and thank you so much for your heartfelt comment over at my blog. Your comments and prayer, along with a surprise "hello" greeting in the mail from another SCS sister stamper from RAK group came at the moment I needed the most comfort. Thank you sweet friend and for your prayer. God blessed you.

That is just Beautiful, your coloring is just wonderful, love the ribbon such a pretty touch with it. Congrats on your new toy, I almost asked for it last Christmas but was wondering how much I would use it. That is what I love about creating cards and any crafting for that matter, while we are doing it we can be praying for that person at the same time, makes it extra special I think when our prayers are combined with our creating :) Have a wonderful week!

This is gorgeous Cheryl!! I just love your coloring of the peonies!! They look so life-like!!! Stunning design too!! Such elegance with the added texture of the embossing and piercing! I have not heard of the MISTI until now. How Cool!! I watched a you-tube video on it...on my wish list for sure.

I am praying for you!! I hope the verse you shared today/yesterday is not because you are in pain. I am thinking of you!! TTYS!!!
hugs,
Chris
