Hello, sweet friends! It's me two days in a row ... wow!
Today I am happy to guest design for The Card Concept #100 Challenge, "Elegant Fall." Special thanks to my precious friend Julie Gearinger for asking me to be one of her guest designers. I am honored and loved making a card for the challenge.
Here is the Inspiration Photo, and it is gorgeous!
I was inspired by the lovely array of pumpkins dipped in gold, one with flowers, and one with a delightful flower and flourish array. I would say that my card is clean, simple, and layered.
I chose a new clear stamp by Power Poppy that reminded me of the pumpkins on display with the lovely flowers and golden pears. After coloring with Copic markers, I used an oval die and then carefully used my Krylon gold pen for a gilded edge. I added a scalloped oval die underneath using designer paper that I sanded for some texture. I matted the two pieces of designer paper and used my Mini MISTI for the sentiment, but it still needed something more. That's when I remembered a long-ignored Ornare piercing template that was inspired by the large pumpkin with the flower. See that flourish? Lovely, right? So I decided to stop there (although I was tempted to add some sequins or pearls, haha!). Hope you like it.
One of the wonderful things about the stamping/blogging community is the number of precious friends I have met online (like Julie Gearinger who invited me to join The Card Concept Challenge). We help each other by sharing techniques and commenting on each others' cards. More frequently than one might think, we develop close friendships, and we are privileged to share prayer requests and to encourage each other. It's a joy to be able to share on a personal level with friends. Friendships are important ... especially to us gals.

Another beautiful card with this stamp set. I do Love the peachy tones with the gold. And the paper piercing is very elegant! Maybe you are restarting the trend! You’ve captured the challenge photo beautifully with your card.
Oh wow. Another stunner. Beautiful coloring and colors and the gold edging really kicks it up a notch.
I love your card, Cheryl! I have been thinking of you and praying for safety with recent hurricanes. I hope all is well!
Oh I just love your chosen colors! What a beautiful image and the patterns compliment the coloring perfectly. <3 Hugs, Autumn
Beautiful take on the inspiration Cheryl! The gold Krylon edging (beautifully one, you have a very steady hand!) is a lovely nod to the gold accents in the photo and the pierced flourish is a super-elegant finishing touch. Gorgeous card!
Loving those creamy, soft colors, Cheryl! The pears set everything else off just perfectly! It's a beautiful creation, and so lovely. Are you still having above average temps down there? we are still in the 90s! Wishing you a fantastic week. hugs, de
What a gorgeous photo inspiration! I love how you had just the perfect image to go with the photo. I LOVE the colors you used! Beautiful card!!
You couldn't have a more perfect stamp for this challenge. So beautiful in these colors and the relatively simple design. Your card has plenty of style, but still clean and simple (in my book). It's a treat to see you two days in a row, Cheryl!
What a beautiful card, and I love the way you have interpreted the photo.
Blessngs

Beautiful image, Cheryl, and your coloring has brought it to life! I love that you used a piercing gizmo...I have some of those 'someplace' - guess I'll need to find them now and put them to use! Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Cheryl, I am so impressed with these pretty pumpkins in pinks and you have certainly captured the inspiration photo perfectly!! Your touch of gold in the oval and that spot on flourish make this so elegant as well! Congratulations on being chosen for the guest designer! Beautiful and so encouraging word as well. Hugs, sweet friend!
Look at you! Posting 2 days in a row!!
This is such a pretty card. I have decorative pumpkins all over my house and in a array of colors. But I do not have any pink. I absolutely love these pink pumpkins and the touch of gold makes it ever so classy. I don't ever seen a pierced flourish. Love it!
What a pretty card! Love the gold and the beautiful colors! Thank you so much for being one of our Guest designers at the Card Concept!!
Oh my Cheryl this is just gorgeous, who knew pumpkins could be so elegant, your coloring is just lovely and those papers are just wonderful with it, I think your pierced flourish topped it off perfectly, great reminder and inspiration for us!

I love that verse especially when those who are friends are such encouragers and ones who build lift you up to where the Lord wants us to be.
Encouragement begets encouragement, that's love in action and thats you, dear sister.
Love your card, Cheryl. You pour yourself into your creations. The piercing was a superb touch. I wonder if I could do that without Ornare tools?
Thank you for sharing.

Totally sweet in the pinks... oh my what a clever idea. The piercing is a great accent to boot. Super sweet and pretty.
