Hello, dear friends! Spring is definitely on the way, and I know most of those in the United States and Canada are eager for the warmer weather. It's been a very cold winter.
So, today I am sharing the very lovely Blossoming Cherry digital release by Marcella Hawley. I especially love her description:
Who does not love the beautiful cherry blossom trees that are a symbol that spring is here? I remember living in Atlanta many years ago and seeing the beautiful pinks and white cherry blossoms.
I used two cherry blossom branches and arranged them on my card inside a square and added one of the sweet sentiments that I will definitely use a lot. Who doesn't love to receive a "happy hello" card from a friend? I colored it very simply (and quickly) inspired by a photo I found on the internet, and then I tried my hand at "pointillism" around the branch for my shading. It's my first attempt, and I will definitely try it again. Then I trimmed my image and adhered it to a scalloped square die, and then I adhered that to a 4½" square card base. It's simple and easy to mail, and I have already finished coloring another one to build up my stash.
God certainly does work in marvelous ways, and He has created such amazing beauty all around us -- if we just look. If we look around us even in the midst of the cold winter and difficulties of life, we can see evidence of His beauty and love for us.
The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims His handiwork.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above.
James 1:17

"Help usher in spring with ebullient cherry blossoms. How can such a simple branch pack such a pretty punch? God works in marvelous ways, that's all I can say! Paired with one of three friendly sentiments, your composition will be the blossoming belles of the ball."

Such a pleasing design, Cheryl! Love your pretty sign of spring!
Your colouring is just fabulous Cheryl ... such a beautiful floral image and wonderfully designed.
Cheryl, this card is so beautiful. I love your method of coloring the sky, with the dots of blue filtering out. I think I am going to try that the next time! I was so fortunate to win the January Power Poppy challenge prize, so I already have new sets coming my way!
Sending my prayers tonight for healing for you, Cheryl.
Hello Cheryl. This card! So elegant and pretty. I love the soft colors and your pointillism background really grounds the branches and highlights them. As usual, your coloring is amazing. I love reading your posts. You have a gift of sharing God's love always. And yes, god does give us what we need. Often, even before we know we need it! I think I will post these scriptures today and read them often, to remind me how very blessed I am. Thank you for sharing.
Cheryl, you're always spot on with the coloring, and your pointillism is perfect! I have a hard time getting pointillism right, but you aced it. First time? Hard to believe! These blooms are beautiful and I love the sentiments with this set. Your scalloped card is so cute in this diminutive size, and I do love small square cards. I'm looking forward to our double pink cherry blossoms that are always so pretty in the spring. Quite a few buds on my young pink dogwood this year, too. Hoping the deer don't like them too much.
Gorgeous job on this new flower digital, and yes it is good to send a happy hello and this will be a fantastic card for someone to receive, beautiful job on the coloring, I have not tried that technique and you have done a terrific job with it, I love the soft color you used to frame it all with too!
I hope you are well and staying warm!!
I just love the warmth this exudes...the hints of blues around the flowers is wonderful. You are so great at giving these flowers a wonderful look.
Hope you are doing ok...you mentioned you have been MIA
sending hugs and lots of love mf.

What lovely colored cherry blossoms and fun scalloped frame. Yes I am looking forward to Spring, so far we have had 28" of rain from Oct 1 2017 to now.
Hugs Diane
This is so beautiful, Cheryl! The colors are so rich and true. I can almost smell the heady aroma of the cherry blossoms! Your pointillism really makes the image pop! Absolutely stunning!
Cheryl, this is gorgeous! Your colouring is done to perfection, the flowers look so real. And for your 'pointillism" - WOW - you totally nailed this technique. Love the scallop layer behind your image, this sets it off nicely. This is such a 'happy' card. Thanks for sharing, oh and yes I can't wait for Spring, it's been a very cold winter this year!
Take care my friend!
That is one gorgeous image for sure. Always think the blooms on fruit trees are so delicate and pretty. Beautifully done my sweet friend. hugs!
Gorgeous work, dear sweet sister and Fiend, Cheryl, I ove this new stamp set and you of course have showcased it simply beautifully... love the way it’s revealed so smoky with scalloped soft turquoise frame.. great work, Sis.
However one thing puzzles me... I have not received your blogpost in my inbox, and I’ve subscribed to them, so I’m not sure what is happening?
Maybe check with feedburner help. You’re not the only one I know to have issues.
I’ve checked I’m still subscribed... but no email.
Pryaing for sorting f it for you!
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Pz.x
Hi, Cheryl. It's always a pleasure visiting your blog to see your gorgeous artwork and designs. The shading in your pink cherry blossoms is amazing, especially with the softness of the aqua blue frame and background. Such a sweet sentiment to top it all off! Like you, I thrill to see the beauty all around - it's a marvel - whether a tiny weed, a glorious sunset, the amazing storm clouds - the sounds of nature - the soulful attitude of our friends - all deepest blessings for sure! hugs, de
Hi Cheryl, This is so pretty I love the colors and the scallops :)
Gorgeous cherry blossoms Cheryl, definitely a sign of spring. Love your pointillism around the branches and how it matches so well with the color of the card base.... Beautiful job... Hugs
Absolutely gorgeous, Cheryl.
Perfect for Spring :)
It's so nice to see you creating Cheryl, you did a beautiful job with the card challenge. The image is precious and colored so beautifully. I love that you used the pointillism technique in the background . . . perfection!
Beautiful blossoms Cheryl!! This is so gorgeous my friend!
i love cherry blossoms. We have lots of them on our street and all over the Lower Mainland as well. Just make sure you don't park under one as you will have petals blowing in through your air vents for a few weeks - don't ask me how I know LOL. Beautifully colours and I can't wait for Spring to bring us ours. Hugs to you xoxo
Cheryl,
I love the pinks and aqua together - they are the colors that first drew me to your work. So I like to think of them as your signature colors. This is a beautiful card and so swoon worthy. The cherry blossoms are the star of the show, so your pointillism surrounding the blossoms - soft perfection!
Oh, it was so good to see a post from you! I think of you and pray for you every, single day...your name is on my permanent prayer list. :) I hope you are feeling well and enjoying life. This is another beautiful creation and job well done, my friend!
