Hello, sweet friends! Praise God we survived Hurricane Irma and suffered only minor damage, but my heart aches for the thousands who have lost loved ones and everything...their homes, jobs, and entire towns and villages. Let's all continue to pray and to do whatever we can to support those who are helping after the three hurricanes and the earthquakes in Mexico.
Both the Bloom Brigade and the Instant Gardeners are teaming up to celebrate a very special day...and couple. Our dearest Marcy is getting married — she and Doug are "tying the knot" — tomorrow. We have been keeping it a secret, and I know she will be delighted when she reads all the lovely things her teams share and sees the cards we have made.
I decided to use a favorite flower of Marcy's mom, and I colored it with pencils and did some "extreme" fussy cutting. I sponged the background to give it some blush...all brides blush at some point, right? Then I positioned the branch, carefully stamped "love," and then adhered it all to the card base. I used a number of small clear adhesive pads to add the delicate branch and flowers and adhered it to the card...breathing a sigh of relief...sort of how a bride feels when she is finally ready to walk down the aisle. So, here is my card!
I have to admit that initially I was a bit overwhelmed at making a card for our artist extraordinaire, Marcella Hawley! However, I realized that this isn't about art per se but rather celebrating the love Marcy and Doug have for each other.

Love is patient and kind;
love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.
It does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth.
Love bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three;
but the greatest of these is love.

I truly appreciate this Word for the day. <3 I'm "loving" your card with the soft pink sponging, gorgeous frame and beautifully fussy cutting. Exquisite beauty! Hugs, Autumn
Such a beautiful representation of Marcella's artwork, combined with your incredible coloring, Cheryl. Red is the perfect color for romance. She will be touched by the blog hop! I so admire your fussy cutting in this delightful creation! Like you, my heart and prayers are extended to all those across the globe, facing tremendous hardship and obstacles. Feeling very grateful and humbled that we "dodged yet another bullet".
I am leaving a much dreaded copy-and-paste phrase on my friends' blogs. Trying to get back into the groove of normal, everyday life. The recent events in Florida caused circumstances which triggered exacerbations of my diseases. Hoping that my hands heal, and strength returns soon - the rest of it can be coped with easily enough. Thanks for understanding my inability to accomplish very much - maybe in October? love and hugs, de
What a lovely wedding card! I really like the colors because the red seems very romantic.
It is overwhelming to see all the news of natural disasters. Keeping those affected in prayer.
Beautiful work Cheryl, made with love to celebrate love.
Oh, how beautiful! And, it was so good to hear that you are safe from the hurricane. My dear sister lives in Naples, and her house was a direct hit. SO much loss and devastation across our land right now...and the world is in such chaos. But, GOD. He is still in control, and He is ever faithful. Much love and many blessings to you, sweet friend. :)
What a wonderful way to celebrate marriage! I love your card, Cheryl! Definitely delicate and beautiful - perfect for a wedding!
A very beautiful card for Marcy and Doug, you've created a masterpiece Cheryl, it's so beautiful. I know Marcy will love it and a huge congratulations to her and Doug!
Yes, prayers to all those effected by Harvey, Irma and Maria. My prayers go out to all of those that lost loved ones and those that are starting all over again and those still without power. My heart and prayers are with each a every one of them.
Oh my, how I enjoyed this special hop. So glad that I made a cup of coffee and sat down to enjoy it and the hop at the same time. Your card is so inspiring and beautiful. Love the shading around the edges that match the gorgeously colors blossoms. Perfect for the wedding day of some happy friends.
Absolutely beautiful, Cheryl!! Gorgeous in every way!!
Your card is simply lovely, my dear.

Oh my goodness, Cheryl, this is gorgeous! You have done a wonderful job colouring those magnolias with pencils and then to fussy cut - wow! And then to layer it onto one of my favorite die cuts - A2 Devine Eloquence. I know Marcy will love your card without a doubt! So glad to hear you survived Irma with minor damage. So much sadness and devastation beyond belief, my thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected!

I just love this gorgeous beauty! How elegant and beautiful it is!!
What a lovely card! Very pretty.
such a gorgeous card mf...love the deep burgundy then the soft pinks of the flowers and the bkg. Hope you are all doing well after the big storm has passed. We are breaking records here in Ontario with all the heat...it's going to feel like 40 degrees C today!! It's so weird to see all the leaves falling off the trees and having this heat. We broke a record yesterday almost 100 yrs old...wow.
Well blessings mf...take care.
xx Karen
