Apples in Season

Hello, my sweet friends! It's Friday, and the weekend is coming. I hope you have a good one, no matter what you do.

Today I am sharing a newly remixed image that reminds me of the change of season, and apples means fall to me. This new digital set from Power Poppy by Marcella Hawley has a lovely cascade of apples and blossoms along with a quote. It is called Apples in Season.

Power Poppy, Marcella Hawley, Apples in Season, Remixed Digital Release, August 2016

Apples remind me of years ago when we would go to a local orchard for apples. The orchard was widely known for its delicious apples, and they had a shop where you could order fresh apple pie and even order a slice to eat there -- with vanilla ice cream on it. Oooh, was it delicious! And the apples were thinly sliced, tender, and had lots of cinnamon. The deep-dish pies had cinnamon sugar on top of an amazing flaky crust. Oh my, what precious memories. So back to my card. Hehe! I decided to make a clean and simple card after I finished coloring this beautiful stem of apples and apple blossoms. I used my MISTI to add a sentiment from Sassy Succulents. Then I used a stitched die and matted it with some designer paper, and finally I added some perle cotton with a button. I popped it up with dimensional tape, and it was done and is ready to be mailed to a friend.

Power Poppy, Marcella Hawley, Apples in Season, Remixed Digital Image, sentiment from Sassy Succulents, CherylQuilts, Designed by Cheryl Scrivens, August 2016

The changing of seasons and the fruitfulness of nature reminds me of the wonderful hymn "Great Is Thy Faithfulness." What a joy to know that God is always faithful and will strengthen and guard us.

Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,

Sun, moon and stars in their courses above,
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

But the LORD is faithful,
and He will strengthen you
and guard you from the evil one.
2 Thessalonians 3:3

Now it's time for my stamping friends to hop on over to Power Poppy to get this new digital release to use today -- and also check out the entire digital collection. Then be sure to visit the Power Poppy blog where there is a lot going on today. Then hop around to leave some "love" for my teammates and see what they have in store for you today! You will not be disappointed!

Thanks so much for visiting and sharing a comment, thought, or question. I always love hearing from you and am happy to answer questions, so don't hesitate to email me. (I am also entering my card in this week's Word Art Wednesday challenge and in Monday's CAS Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.)

Oh, Cheryl love your CAS card today. Those apples are coloured to perfection, they look good enough to eat! I can't wait until the 'new' crop of apples appear out at the orchards - just a few more weeks. Love your finishing touches with the perle cotton and button - it's just enough. Have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for sharing such a beauty today. Hugs,

Love the clean classic look of this card! The red really pops against the white and what a beautiful sentiment to put with it!! I'm sure whoever the lucky recipient is will absolutely adore this card!! Beautiful!!

oooooh, beautiful! Cheryl, there are some CAS cards which are masterpieces, and should be displayed in such a way that the image gets all the attention! Your artwork is always incredible, and so the simple red frame, and pierced mat are the perfect complements for this amazing coloring job! Lovely sentiment, and I enjoyed your poem from Thess as well. We lived in an apple orchard in CT and enjoyed apples in the same manner. When the organic apples come into season at Publix, Jack buys them and creates delicious snacks and desserts with cinnamon and thinly sliced apples YUMMY! Hope you are doing well in this heat, Cheryl, and that this week's temporary drop of a few degrees reaches your part of the state. hugs, de

Very pretty and CAS! I love the new Apple image, it looks fun to color, but not too hard for me. I do love how you colored it and left it the star of the show.

I love pies, but am not a fan of cutting up large amounts of apples, so I would love to have a place close by like the orchard you mentioned!

I hope you win the contest, sweet friend. This is just beautiful...as are all of your creations! I hope this finds you feeling well today and able to enjoy God's many blessings. Apples remind me of fall, too...my favorite season of the year! So thankful it is coming up soon! God be with you and bless you.

Gorgeous coloring Cheryl, beautifully done... your friend will feel very special to receive this lovely card. The button with the cotton is a lovely addition to it! We have a farm just a couple miles from us that have the apples and they also bake homemade pies to sell and have a ice cream store next door that they put the apple pie with the ice cream, we usually treat ourselves to one each year :) Have a blessed weekend!

Beautiful coloring of those lovely ripe apples, Cheryl! They're the best when picked right off the tree. Our son has two trees and I'll be looking forward to those apples this fall. I love making applesauce in the crockpot and freezing batches of it. CAS is perfect for your card and this gorgeous image. You got such a pretty blush on the flowers and fantastic depth and shadows in the leaves. Love the string and button -- such a cute addition. It's always such a treat when you stamp!

Oh these apples are ready for the picking Cheryl and SO juicy looking! Your coloring and cards are incredibly beautiful as always. I've been trying to sign up for the past Copic Standard Certificate classes but the date conflicts with my kids' schooling. So if you ever decided to a flowers/fruits coloring LIVE class (not online class) and during summer vacation, let me know. I'll fly to Florida just to learn from you in person! But it needs to be during summer break, aftrr July 4th. LOL. Sending you hugs. - Christina

Hello Cheryl: Those apples look so real I want to take a bite out of them!! extraordinary coloring, simply amazing!!
Soon the apple orchards will be jam packed with apples and we'll be taking a drive up there with my grandchildren, we all pick apples and make pies, apple sauce and just plain eat them out of the bag.
Thank you for sharing this gorgeous card.

Maria.
