Two New Power Poppy Digis Today!

Hello, precious friends! Can you believe we are starting a new week and that soon it will be May? It's that season for lots of delicious fruit and time to get refreshed after the winter. Today I get to share two cards using two new digital sets from Power Poppy. The first is the remixed digital image by Marcella Hawley called Juicy Strawberries with two wonderful sentiments.
"We have three images in this strawberry-centric set. My drawing showcasing berries, flowers, leaves, and curlicues was based on heirloom strawberries that are growing in our backyard, plants originally from the previous owner's grandmother's garden! The sentiments are inspired by the kindness that I so often see shared in the conversations with my design teams. Most recently I have been the beneficiary of lots of virtual juicy, squooshy hugs — and they were a big juicy help to me. I hope these messages will do the same for the recipients of your card-making."

What fun to see this set with the wonderful sentiments and these fabulous strawberries. I have strawberries on my cereal every day  yum! I used one of the pretty Spellbinders borders and used it on top and bottom, and it was inspired by one of the beautiful cards my dear husband gave me this Christmas that has a pretty border like this with beautifully sparkly paper underneath  and I even used sequins. I have used the wonderful larger sentiment for inside this card and know that special someone will love it the "squooshy" hugs inside.

So now for the second digital image, which is the new Instant Garden digital image by Marcella Hawley called Created to Create
"This set is a little different than what I have introduced previously, in that the 'scene' includes a hand-drawn sentiment, and then there is a version of the same scene with a 'blank canvas.' I was thinking that a sentiment from another set could be hand-stamped inside — OR — the artist could draw a little scene on his or her own on the canvas! Maybe a little watercolor wash or a swirly doodle. :) The idea is that we were created to create!! Nobody ever said exactly WHAT to create, just to get to it! :)"
Power Poppy, Marcella Hawley, Created to Create, Instant Garden Digital Image, April 2016

One of the wonderful things about this new Instant Garden digi is that you can just pull it into Microsoft Word and it will fill the whole page (with or without the completed "canvas"). Wait till you see what some of the gals have done — simply amazing! Anyway, I used the complete image and made it smaller and had such fun coloring it — and even decided to "buck the tide" and made my daffodils a peachy pink color. I have had this notebook edge die for a while and decided to use it for this card. Truly, this is such a fun new Instant Garden digi, and I know we will be seeing lots of great artwork with it.

So, here is my finished card, and it was such fun to get my "watercolor set" on the "canvas" smudged with the paint.

Power Poppy, Marcella Hawley, Created to Create, Instant Garden Digital Image, CherylQuilts, Designed by Cheryl Scrivens, April 2016

While I was enjoying coloring and finishing my cards, I thought about the quote, "We were created to create." And I thought about how we are made in the image of God. While God created everything from nothing, we have been given the gift of creativity, allowing us to make beautiful things with the materials He has given us. When we do something creative, we are imitating God, which helps draw us closer to Him. God's Word tells us how He specifically equipped people to be craftsman and work with their hands.

And I have filled him with the Spirit of God,
with the ability and intelligence, and knowledge
and craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs,
to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting,
and in carving wood, to work in every craft.
Exodus 31:3-5

Be sure to visit the Power Poppy blog and see what Marcy has in store and to see what my amazing teammates have to share  creativity abounds!! And then I hope you stampers will hop over to Power Poppy to purchase these new digital sets to use today. Have you checked out the entire digital collection lately? It's amazing!

What lovely new images and your cards are both beautiful. I love the Hello Sweet Friend sentiment, and it does sound like you, Cheryl! The coloring page digi is really on trend and I love how you colored it. The notebook die you used is the perfect touch for this image. You found a good verse to go with the Created to Create saying.

Sweet Cheryl, both cards are delightfully colored. You have a talent, that's for sure. You always craft the most special cards with your dies and coloring. You have an amazing aptitude for details ... all those things that give your cards that extra something to make them stand out amongst all the others. Beautiful work on both card, sweet Cheryl. I'm loving every card I see with these new digis! Lines or no lines, those berries look fabulous. Really cute with the green gingham paper. Don't strawberries just call out for gingham? And I'm super impressed with your creativity on the second card. Love how you made the palette messy, just like it would be in real life. Your shading on those letters is pretty amazing in such a small space. Love the notebook edge, too. Fantastic, Cheryl!

You ALWAYS amaze me with the beauty of your creativity, Cheryl. Those strawberries are amazing, and that second card looked like a lot of fun creating.
So many new things with making cards since I once played around in that area.
Excellent part of Scripture you shared with us.

Enjoy your weekend~~

These are such beautiful creations...inspired by the Master's hands I'd say, dear Cheryl!! I love the scripture you've shared with your readers. I've been to some of the beautiful churches in Europe with the painted ceiling and am truly amazed how God gifts us for His glory! I have these strawberries from before Marcella's remake and have been inspired seeing them come alive again. Your choice of colors and papers and your delicate coloring are pure perfection. So, no need to visit my blog as right now my "art" is a bathroom remodel and once the light is hung and I can take a picture, I will!! Blessings, sweet friend!
