Happy Birthday, Power Poppy!

Hello, sweet friends, and happy Friday! I am excited to help kick off the "party" to celebrate Power Poppy. Yes, Power Poppy is two years old today, and what a weekend Marcy has planned for everyone! After reading her words and seeing her adorable face, can you tell Marcy is excited?
"Power Poppy is turning 2. WOOHOO! We want to THANK YOU, our sweet and encouraging peeps around the world, for helping us spread the botanical abundance and zest for life. Your creativity, love, and generosity of spirit is SO STRONG! We are thrilled to kick off another year of flowering and empowering together.
From Friday through Monday, we're offering 20% OFF all in-stock clear stamps and all digital sets. Use the discount code at checkout to receive the special savings. PLUS, for four days only we have a special birthday digi Layer Cake for only TWO BUCKS! Visit Power Poppy to learn more."
Power Poppy, Marcella Hawley, 2nd Birthday Celebration Sale, April 1-4, 2016

As part of the celebration, some members of the Power Poppy team had fun using one of Becky Fleck's CardMaps sketches at PageMaps.com. While I'm not a big fan of sketch challenges, I must say that it was good for me to get out of my "comfort zone." I think we all need to do that from time to time, right? I have wanted to use one of the images from the new Folk Heart clear set, and worked that into the sketch, together with a sentiment from the Cozy Cupfuls clear set.

I stamped the adorable vase of folk art flowers and colored away (once I found a piece of patterned paper - oh, the challenge that can be, as I hunted through many paper pads!). Guided by the sketch, I used various dies and shapes - and finally added a sweet little double-layered button die to fasten my sentiment and added some embroidery floss around the focal image. So here is my finished card:

What a blessing it has been to be part of such a vibrant, creative, and fun group of stampers and to work with some of the most beautiful botanical images hand-drawn by Marcella Hawley. I love her enthusiasm and spontaneity, along with her love for the beauty of all that God has created for us to enjoy! I thank God for gifting her in so many ways and wish Marcy and Power Poppy a very happy birthday with many years to come. Thinking about celebrating made me think of this verse from the book of Psalms:

Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it.
Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them;

let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
Psalm 96:11-12

Now it's time to "run" over to the Poppy Poppy blog for the latest news from Marcella Hawley as she kicks off the birthday party celebration - together with a brand new Power & Spark challenge by Christine Okken! I'm sure you stampers will definitely enjoy this fun weekend! Wait till you see this adorable Layer Cake Digital Stamp and Sentiment set!

Fantastic job with the sketch Cheryl. I have used a couple of theirs before. They're very detailed. Your image is colored perfectly. I have a button die in my basket at SSS. I love buttons but am trying to make my cards less bulky for mailing. I don't see in your supply list which die you've used for it??? Fantastic work as always. Hugs!

Tracy, I used two of the circles in the Matting Circles dies by Our Daily Bread Designs. I should have mentioned that in my description. I like this one because the are small.
