Sundays are a day of rest, and I find coloring so relaxing. And I am working at getting more cards mailed - yes, written, put into an envelope, and mailed!
Flowers always make a nice card for friends, so I used this image of a Mason jar with wild flowers. I colored it, sponged around the oval, pierced it, and matted it with a scalloped die. Following the layout of our Featured Stamper Linda's card, I matted a piece of designer paper with a small scalloped edge at the bottom. I used some printed ribbon like she did, and then I stamped the image using my MISTI (oh, do I love that new tool). I actually stamped it twice to get a nice, sharp image. The bow is actually tied and attached to the ribbon across the card (using one-side ribbon is a challenge). So now it's ready to send to a friend.
This week I read a wonderful post by a dear blogging friend who lives in South Africa, and we have become good friends. Kelly-Anne shared some "Thoughts on Letter Writing," and I hope you might visit and read it. She said, "It is delightful to discover a handwritten letter in the mailbox in amongst bills and such, and just imagine the smile your sweet note will put on another's face." How precious!

When I receive a card or letter from a dear friend, I actually love to touch it and be reminded that it was touched by them and written by hand. To me, it's a piece of "love" from my friend, and I can read it over and over again. Friends are such precious gifts from God!
Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10If one falls down
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
A friend loves at all times.
Proverbs 17:17
Thanks so much for "stopping by" and sharing a comment, thought or question, and I hope you have a wonderful week! (I am entering this week's Word Art Wednesday challenge and the Simon Says: Die Crazy challenge where I used two dies.)

Cheryl, I really like the beautiful flowers in the mason jar on the oval. The dark blue is a beautiful accent color. Thank you so much for taking time to post your very creative art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday in our 201st AG challenge!
Blessings and Hugs, Carole
Your card is simply sweet, that bouquet is lovely, I like wild flowers in a mason jar, just says summer to me. Like how you colored the background too and the pretty paper complements it all so well and such a pretty tiny scalloped edge and ribbon to match to top it all off!
A MISTI Is on my wish list for Christmas :)
Cheryl, this is beautiful on so many levels. First, the card, itself, with your flawless crafting and coloring is lovely and I'm so happy to see it today. It is truly one of life's small blessings. Additionally, I enjoyed reading your post and even clicked over and read your friend's post. Funny how I've been thinking of this so much lately and will have a little something to say about it in an upcoming blog post. I still have a letter my mom wrote me so many years ago. I get it out and read it every now and then. It is more precious to me than anything I could have inherited. It was the small things from Mom that meant the most to me. The button collection, for instance. What a wonderful post today, Cheryl.
Oh, dearest Cheryl! How darling this card is! You colouring is sheer perfection, and I love the layout you used...just gorgeous! The flowers in the mason jar is delightful and really works with the sweet sentiment... Aww, I am so glad my little post inspired you, dear Cheryl! I love how you said a handwritten note is like a piece of love....how true! And the verse you shared is so lovely and a wonderful reminder...
May your week be loevly and special...I send my dearest love to you and oh so much love!
Blessings!
Kelly-Anne {on her little sister's account!}
Oh Cheryl, this is such a darling card, beautiful in every detail! So happy that you could enjoy a day of rest and celebrating friendship! :)
This is a lovely card. You take so much care with the detail on your cards and this one is no exception. The colors and coloring are so pretty and I am not sure how you can perfectly pierce that oval. You are among the best of the best.
I always enjoy your inspirational post. That is another of your multiple talents.
Hugs
Gail
Beautiful card and beautiful post! Thank you, Cheryl! :o)
Well I just love you mf. Gorgeous card...love how you did the shading; just amazing. I am so with you about touching the card that has been touched and created by a friend...it is such a thrill and I feel somehow connected to them by doing that.
So many people feel that sending cards is a bother and they just want to send an email. I have to tell you that I know that actually holding that precious card, something wonderful and tangible in your hands, is like a small gift from God. I so appreciate it.
You just keep inspiring us with your beauties mf. Your love and goodness surely shines through your lovely cards!
hugs and love,
Karen

Oh, Shaz, it's so good to see you, and there have been problems with Feedburner. Thought it had worked itself out, but I hope to "see" you again soon. Will hope to pop over to your blog! Hugs!

This is a lovely card, Cheryl, your colouring is superb, blue is my favourite colour and I love navy with white polka dots.
I smiled when I read, "yes, written, put into an envelope, and mailed!"
I have such trouble actually getting cards in the mail. I blame it on my serious 'postal disorder'!
Love the image and your coloring of it. The card itself is just beautiful. Love the message in this post as well.
I am not much of a card or note sender. I really should do more.
Love, Hugs and Blessings

What a beautiful post, my friend. I have always loved those verses from Ecclesiastes...such truth and power in the words. Frisnds are so precious and I am so thankful the Lord allowed us to meet and become friends {{smiles}}
Your card is extra charming and sweet. The flowers in the jar are simply darling. Love and hugs to you!
Awe what a charming card Cheryl. Your coloring talent and awesome choice of the blue designer paper really made this mason jar image shine. A lovely week to you Cheryl.
Hugs - Christina
Love the homey feel of the mason jar and the sweet little scallops. Another beautiful creation my friend. Yes, the written word seems to be a thing of the past four most people. I've always loved to get letters, so good for you for carrying it on. :-)
Hi Cheryl, This is Dewi.. I love this santa.. the shading is so cool!
A beautiful card made with love for a friend. Your coloring is so detailed and perfect. Love.
This is soooo beautiful. Your coloring is fabulous and great choice of colors, too. Love it!
Such a pretty card Cheryl. Love the beautiful coloring... soft, feminine... and just perfect. The blue background paper is really nice too. Wonderful thoughts. While I am the worst when it comes to hand written notes and sending out cards (yes, I love to make them, but forget to send them out)... I miss the old snail mail and finding something special in the mailbox.
