My sweet husband has grown sunflowers for us here in South Florida, and they are gorgeous! They grow tall, are full of sunshine, and surely make anyone smile!
Wanting to use the entire image, I simply opened Microsoft Word, pulled in the image, resized it, and then brought in the sentiment. I finally found a piece of designer paper that worked with my image, and I used it to guide my color palette for the sunflower petals. I added a little "sunshine" yellow to the sentiment. I traced inside the smallest of the Grand Labels One dies, and I fussy cut my focal image and matted it with Coastal Cabana. And you just knew I had to pierce, right? Hehe! I added some Copic-dyed pearls, added some seam binding, and used some new thin dimensionals to adhere my focal image to the background. I adhered that to the card base with red tape (because I never want my cards to fall apart after they arrive). Print, color, mat, pierce, glue pearls, add seam binding, add to background, and adhere to the card base - done!

Just lovely, Cheryl - the mix of the beautifully colored image with the die-cuts and papers is perfection!
Coastal Cabana and sunflower never looked prettier. I just love all the detail you put into your card like the faux stitching and the yellow "Sunshine". I think I prefer a sunflower over a rose and you've just confirmed that with this gorgeous card.
What a beautiful card, Cheryl! Your paper piercing is amazing... so perfect!! Praying for you today!!
This is so lovely Cheryl! You picked such a great palette for the sunflower and your colouring is beautiful!
Oh Cheryl! What a lovely card! The background paper is perfect with the sunflower, too! And all of the little details, the pearls, the piercing and the highlighting on the sentiment work together beautifully.
The verse you shared is one of my favorites. I have a framed print of it on our piano. Thanks for the reminder! I hope your Wednesday has been wonderful, so far!
Hugs,
Barb :)
You are such an inspiration Cheryl. Not only with your creative talent, but with your kind and generous heart!! Thanks for sharing both! I love how you highlighted the word "Sunshine". And I am super jealous that you have sunflowers growing right in your yard!! Hugs my sweet friend!!
Beautiful card and design. I really like how you highlighted the Sunshine. Wonderful idea. Sunflower is one of my favorites.
Wonderful card my dear sweet friend!! Love the sunflower and the way you've colored it and your beautiful leaves...Marcella draws the most amazing flower designs too! Just beautiful!
Charming beautiful Cheryl. I do like the CAS of this card, the piercing is fabulous around the border. I agree the paper is perfect for this Sunflower. Beautiful card sweet friend.

Oh! This card reminds me of the sunflower field by our apartment when we were stationed in Ft. Hood, TX!!! Sniff... But happy, wonderful memories. I just adore this card!!! What a beautiful Word for this dreary morning after a big storm! Thanks for spreading the light!!! ;0
Oh, my goodness, so beautiful and LOVE the papers you used for a backdrop! Coastal Cabana looks very pretty. Hmmm... I pretty much quit buying new SU colors because I've run out of room and can't bear to throw anything out. Yet, when am I going to use all that Glorious Green or Vintage Violet, for instance? I'd better get busy, I guess. Cheryl, your coloring of this sunflower is absolutely fabulous. Made me gasp!
Gorgeous coloring, love your little details in the framing and how you highlighted the sunshine. You truly bring sunshine to my life with all your sweet visits to my blog. ((((HUGS))))
