Power Poppy Instant Gardeners - January Release

Welcome to the first Power Poppy Instant Garden Digital Release! As Julie shared yesterday, an "instant garden" is the new digital stamp collection from Power Poppy by Marcella Hawley. You can buy, download, print, and color the digi images - in an instant!

I am thrilled to join this amazing team of talented artists and excited to share the first digital release for 2015. On the 15th of each month, we will share the newest botanical "digi" by our amazing Marcella...and it's available today - instantly (but I guess I already said that...hehe)! Yes, Marcella has once again outdone herself with a stunning cottage rose and two individual sentiments - called La Vie en Rose

Power Poppy, Instant Garden Digital Stamp Release, La Vie en Rose, January 2015

I decided to showcase the main image from La Vie en Rose and used the sentiment from the digital set, Gladioli. With this card, I went low-tech and simply resized the main floral image in Word and then "dropped" the sentiment into the same document, resized it, and right-clicked to "bring to front." In future months, I will use GIMP to do more manipulation and share some tips and hints.

Truly this rose "stole the show" for me, and I loved coloring it! I used Copic markers, matted the image using one of my Copic markers to match. Then I paper-pierced for some added interest and used a feminine border punch at the bottom for a simple and mailable card.

I just love the lace border on this card, it really compliments this gorgeous rose and your beautiful coloring of it. I'm glad you didn't add a ribbon or any bling to your creation, this allowed this rose to take center stage, it needs nothing to look amazing.

Beautifully done Cheryl. Perfect coloring. I say I love roses would be an understatement. Many years ago I was a volunteer tester for new rose hybrids for Jackson & Perkins. At one point I had more than 30 different roses in my garden. Alas, a new job and limited time caused me to give it up. Today there are 3 miniature roses and that is all. - Jim
