Since I love flowers (and coloring them), I used one of the new May release sets, Glory, and added a verse from Scripture Collection 6. I rotated the sketch 90 degrees, keeping it simple by adding one of the Beautiful Borders dies, along with a bow (some seam binding dyed with a Copic marker) and a rose card stock matting to coordinate.
This verse is a very special one for me. I read John 14:1-3 at my mom's funeral from her Bible, which is the version I memorized from as a young girl (and it still is hard to memorize in other versions!). This passage remains a great comfort to me, and it also comforts me in knowing that whatever God brings into my life (whatever it is), He is with me through it all. He will guide me, give me peace and comfort, and help me through all of life's trials.
Let not your heart be troubled:
Ye believe in God, believe also in Me.
In my Father's house are many mansions:
If it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again,
And receive you until myself;
That where I am, there ye may be also.
John 14:1-3

I have also entered this card for this week's Word Art Wednesday challenge.
Thanks so much for "stopping by" and leaving a comment or sharing a thought.
I thank my parents, Sunday School teachers, and many others for encouraging me to memorize portions of God's Word when I was young and am thankful that God often brings these verses to mind when I need them most. I trust you too will hide God's Word in your heart!

This is absolutely gorgeous! What a beautiful combination of white pink and green! Adore this card :)
Hello sweet Cheryl! Your card, as always, is lovely! I like the sweet ribbon on it :)
The Scripture you shared blessed my heart this morning, "Let not your heart be troubled. . ." I must confess that there are many times I allow my heart to be troubled yet there is no need or purpose for our hope and promise IS in Jesus. Thank you, dear friend, for sharing this :)
Have a wonderful long weekend! Hugs to you
This is a very beautiful card Cheryl. It's been so long since I've watercolored, I think I must be incredibly rusty, but should give it a go. Your post is beautifully written, I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom. Praise The Lord she's in a far better place than us. Hugs!!!
Cheryl, your card is beyond beautiful! The lovely flowers are a perfect frame for the comforting and beautifully scripted verse. Love that dainty little border along the edge, too. The ribbon color turned out great and is so pretty with the flowers.
Beautiful, Cheryl! Love your pretty coloring!!
That is beautiful, Cheryl!! And I know what you mean about memorizing in one version. I memorized so much in KJV when I was a kid and now when I read the NIV it doesn't sound right. :-) I'm stopping in from Stephanie's blog and am now following via Feedly Reader.
Love the richness of this beauty Cheryl! Beautiful coloring, encouraging verse and lovely bow! Picture perfect!
Finally getting to my computer so I can leave you a comment! This is one of my all-time favorite cards, Cheryl! I love how you used the sketch, the scalloped border, your gorgeous coloring & that verse--a masterpiece, my friend!
Another gorgeous Cheryl creation! Love the simplicity of the design to show off your beautiful blooms and again, the powerful message. Your post brought back some sweet memories for me...as a child in Sunday School we each had a paper crown and for each verse we memorized we got to add another jewel in the crown. We were all studying so hard so we could have a crown full of beautiful jewels....not realizing at the time, we would end up with a heart full of scripture and a mind full of beautiful memories. Thanks so much for trip down memory lane, Cheryl! :)
